The short answer is as soon as possible. we do not sub contract work out to other DJ's and only run one show so to avoid any disappointment reserve your date now. Our charges are based on the date, times, duration and location of your function. We don’t operate a fixed fee or an hourly rate, as almost every function is different.
If I want to book Sounds Sensational Mobile Disco what do I do now?
If you would like to proceed please contact us and we can run through all the details with you. We can then issue the paperwork for you to sign and return to us.
Can you set up earlier in the day if required?
To assist in the smooth running of your event you may wish us to set up earlier in the day. With advance notice we can set up whenever you require it.
Have you got Public Liability Insurance?
We hold £2m Public Liability Insurance cover, a copy of our current certificate is available.
What about Health & Safety – is your equipment tested?
Equipment is Portable Appliance (PAT) tested annually in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive, Electricity at Work Act 1989. A copy of your DJ’s current test certificate is available on request.
What will the DJ wear?
We set up in jeans t-shirts etc. But on the night our dress code is either smart casual, shirt & tie or black tie upon request. Please indicate your preference when making your enquiry.
What kind of lighting do you use?
We have a selection of coloured lighting special effects to create a party ambience at your venue. A smoke machine used sensibly can dramatically enhance the lighting effect on the dancefloor, and is available upon request when booking at no extra charge, however please check in advance that your venue allow the use of smoke.
Will you be our DJ for our event, or do you have a roster of DJs?
Does it make any difference to the cost if my party is upstairs?
We ask if the party is on the ground floor, first floor, etc. to ensure the DJ knows where he is going to be set up. A DJ will often allow longer to set up if it’s upstairs.this may affect the price.
We have a mixture of young and old; can you cater for all ages?
Sounds Sensational Mobile Disco has built its reputation by ensuring that all your guests are musically satisfied, from grand parents to nephews we guarantee music for all tastes.
What music do you play?
We always play a great mixture of music to keep the dance floor busy all night and we guarantee to play something to suit all age ranges and tastes. But remember, not everyone wants to dance! Thats not to say they're not having a good time!
What time do you normally finish?
We finish whenever you want us to. The most popular finish time is midnight but it’s your choice. It will cost you more to finish later than the agreed time. Remember to check with your venue as to what time the bar shuts, what time the music and/or entertainment must finish and if applicable, what time we need to vacate the building by.
We have received a cheaper quote from the yellow pages?
Like anything else in life, we believe you get what you pay for. We have always offered a totally professional show with high quality entertainment at affordable prices.
Has the DJ played at many events before as we want someone with a lot of experience?
We have 1000s of successful past events, many of which have been weddings and parties the DJ has a vast experience of performing at all types of functions.
Do I have to supply your DJ with food etc?
You don’t have to but you may want to take into account that our DJ and technician can work up to fifteen hours a day and may also have to drive several hours. Our staff are human beings. It goes without saying that if you wish to look after them with one or two refreshments they will be much happier.
Do you play requests?
Yes we play requests, you will find our DJs approachable,friendly and only too willing to help,tell us your favourite titles or styles of music you would like us to play at your disco,all this can be arranged when you book.
How do we organise our first dance?
Sounds Sensational Mobile Disco, we automatically send you out a wedding questionaire in which you tell us all your requirements and record any relevant information,this is then sent back to us in a S.A.E. provided by us.
What happens if you are unavailable to DJ at our event, e.g. through illness?
This is the one occasion where obviously I would have no alternative but to get another DJ to perform / provide equipment. The DJ company I would select would be of equal high quality and professionalism and all relevant information regarding your function would be passed on. However, I have never had to cancel a performance due to illness since being in the industry.
What time do you play the first dance?
Whenever you want us to. The average time is between 8.30pm and 9.00pm, but we will wait for your cue on the night as Weddings rarely run to time and it is pointless to agree a time prior to the evening. If you change your mind on the night and decide that you are not going to perform a 1st dance it’s no problem.

What music do you play?
The hardest question to answer by far but the most important. We do not have a fixed ‘list’ that we work from. We want each disco to be different and unique. We have a large range of music but we also know what works well. Most events have two main musical ingredients. A proportion of the night will normally consist of popular music that is proven to work, time after time. The other proportion of the night will normally consist of requests from yourself and your guests. This ‘blend’ works night after night simply by playing spontaneous requests given on the night mixed with an underlying core of dance floor fillers. You get the best of both worlds. A unique and personal musical collection and a full dance floor.
Do you need to see the venue?
No. Most of the venues we work in are already familiar to us. If the venue is new (or new to us) we will contact the venue directly and gather the information we need to ensure that the night runs smoothly.
How up to date is your music collection?
Our music collection is updated weekly, we have all the most current chart hits.
